Sailing yacht crossing open water

Buying a sail

You do the parts you can see.

We do the parts you cannot. Eight steps from your boat to a sail that sets properly on it.

The path

From your boat to your sail.

01

Find your boat

Pick it from the database, or tell us what it is. You are correcting a starting point, not filling in a blank form.

02

Choose which sail

Know already? Go straight to it. Not sure? We show what your boat and your sailing usually need.

03

Configure it

Your boat and your cloth have settled most of it already. You confirm a short list only you can see.

04

Send photographs

The configurator asks where it matters. This is the one part that means walking down to the boat.

05

Pay

The price you see is the price you pay, shipping included. In full, or 50% deposit with the balance after production.

06

A sailmaker reviews it

A real person goes through your order against your boat and your photographs, and comes back to you if something doesn't add up.

07

Confirm your Sail Passport

Your boat, your choices, what we checked, what we changed. Only things you can read.

08

Production and delivery

Built to the approved spec, inspected at four stages, packed and shipped. Two to five weeks, confirmed when you order.

Who is responsible for what

Three sentences. Everything else follows.

You are responsible for the facts about your boat — what is on your mast, what was modified. You are responsible for your choices. We are responsible for the sail fitting and working.

Not your job

What you will not be asked to do.

01 Calculate a load

You will not be asked to.

02 Choose reinforcement layers

You will not be asked to.

03 Approve a production drawing

It exists. You are welcome to see it. Signing it is not your job.

Price and payment

The price you see is the price you pay.

It updates as you configure. Change the cloth, add a reef, choose a different bag — the number moves immediately. Shipping is included. Pay in full, or 50% deposit with the balance after production.

Shipping is included in the price. Import duties and customs clearance are not, and depend on where you are.

After it arrives

Two years against faults in materials and workmanship.

If something's wrong with how the sail was made, we repair or replace it. Normal wear, damage and alterations by others aren't covered — the same boundary the rest of the trade draws.
