Once the Passport is confirmed, the specification is released to production. We build and inspect the sail, you pay the balance if applicable, and the order moves through delivery to a simple receiving check.
Production begins after approval
Confirming the Passport locks the build specification and releases the order to the loft. Material is allocated and the sail enters a production schedule. A change after this point may affect timing or require new material, so raise questions before confirming.
The production sequence
The exact work varies by sail type, but the stages are consistent:
- Material preparation — cloth, protection, tapes, lines and hardware are gathered to the confirmed specification.
- Cutting or fibre layout — panels are cut or continuous fibres are placed along the designed load paths.
- Assembly — panels and seams create the designed three-dimensional shape.
- Reinforcement and hardware — corners, reef points, batten receptacles, rings, webbing and control-line exits are fitted.
- Markings and finishing — numbers, stripes, logos, labels, battens, edges and the sail bag are completed.
- Final inspection — the finished sail is checked against the Passport and packing list before it leaves.
The balance payment
If you chose a 50% deposit, the remaining 50% is invoiced after production is complete and before shipment. The order moves to shipping after the balance is received and matched. Customers who paid in full do not receive a second product invoice.
What is checked before shipping
The loft checks the sail’s identity and version, main dimensions, corners and hardware, reef and batten arrangement, furling or handling interface, markings and included equipment. A discrepancy found at the loft can be corrected before shipment; you should not have to discover it on your mooring.
The packing list separates what is supplied with the sail from hardware already on your boat. Cars, furlers, blocks, sheets and tracks are not included unless the Passport says they are.
Delivery and tracking
Your order status follows scheduling, production, inspection and shipment. Carrier information and tracking appear where the carrier provides them. Actual delivery depends on destination, customs clearance, weather and whether the address is remote; duties and destination charges remain the customer’s responsibility.
Before delivery, arrange a clean, dry place to open the sail and enough space to see the package and packing list without dragging the sail across a dirty or wet surface.
When the sail arrives
Before installing or hoisting it:
- check the outer packaging for damage;
- confirm the sail label and order reference;
- compare the contents with the packing list and Passport;
- inspect the visible sail and supplied equipment.
If anything is wrong, photograph the package and the problem, keep all packaging and contact support before using the sail. For installation, first hoist and ongoing care, continue to Owner Support.
